Bolt.new vs Kiro

A decision for a beginner, not a spec sheet. Scores are our weights. Prices are the public plans, and anything marked verify on the tool page should be re-checked before you pay.

The call

  • Bolt.new: Browser builder with a code view and hosting. Kiro: Desktop IDE, CLI, and a paid web app for cloud sessions.
  • If you do not want to read code, Bolt.new is the closer fit.
  • Kiro has the lower verified individual paid plan: Pro at $20/user/mo.
  • For a website or landing page, Bolt.new is the stronger match in our weights.

Take the quiz

Bolt.new

A browser builder with a generous free token pool and a $25 Pro plan.

Cheapest verified paid plan: Pro · $25/mo

Pick it when

  • A first web app or landing page you want to see running today
  • Beginners who want a free month of real building, not a 10-message demo
  • People who may later edit the generated code in the code view

Leave it when

  • Large existing repositories
  • Native mobile apps and games
  • Long-running production apps, because token cost rises as the project grows

Kiro

An agentic IDE that turns a prompt into a spec, then into a diff.

Cheapest verified paid plan: Pro · $20/user/mo

Pick it when

  • A web app or automation you will keep in a repo and review as a diff
  • Developers who want requirements and tasks written down before the agent edits
  • A published monthly credit number, instead of an unpublished quota

Leave it when

  • Publishing a landing page without looking at code
  • A native iOS or Android app (the Kiro mobile app only steers sessions)
  • Games that need a scene editor
  • Anyone who needs the free 50 credits to last a month of daily agent work

Starts at 10M tokens per month, no daily cap. Unused paid tokens roll for one extra month. Custom domain, no Bolt branding, 100MB uploads.

The pricing page lists Pro at $25/mo as the starting individual paid plan. The monthly price is used for matching. The annual rate is marked verify because the billing page states both 10% off and $216/year.
