Where to host your AI-built app

Leave it where you built it until you need a custom domain, a server that stays awake, or a place for other people's data. A host serves the pages. The database is a separate choice. Prices and limits below were read from each provider's own pages on 2026-10-22.

The call

  • Still clicking around in Lovable, Bolt, or Replit, and you are the only user: keep their hosting. A lovable.app or bolt.host URL is included. Replit's free publish expires after 30 days, so republish it or move before you treat that URL as permanent.
  • You exported a website or a Next.js or Vite app and you are not charging anyone: Cloudflare Pages if you want a free custom domain and static files that are not metered. Netlify Free if you also want their included database. Vercel Hobby if the project is personal and non-commercial.
  • You are charging customers: do not stay on Vercel Hobby. Its fair-use rule is non-commercial personal use. Vercel Pro is $20/month. Netlify Personal is $9/month. Cloudflare Workers Paid is $5/month once functions outgrow the free daily quota.
  • The app has to stay running when nobody is clicking (a bot, a websocket, a long job): Render's cheapest paid web service is $7/month. Railway Hobby is $5/month and includes $5 of usage. Do not put real data on Render's free Postgres.

Hosting is not the database. Accounts, files, and rows belong in Supabase or Firebase, or in the builder's own backend. Before you share the URL, run the security checklist. When you charge, use the payments guide.

The hosts, side by side

Each cell is a figure printed on the linked pricing or docs page. Where a page described a limit without a number, the cell says so.

VercelHobby is $0. 100 GB fast data transfer, 1 million CDN requests, and 1 million function invocations a month. 200 projects, 100 deployments a day, functions up to 300 seconds. Personal, non-commercial use only. Past a limit, you usually wait 30 days.Pro is $20/month, with one deploying seat and $20 of usage credit.Yes. Up to 50 domains per project on Hobby.A personal Next.js or frontend app you are not selling.
Netlify$0 for 300 credits a month, hard stop, no auto recharge. A production deploy costs 15 credits, 1 GB of bandwidth costs 20, and 10,000 requests cost 2. Includes 3 databases with 7-day backup retention, and custom domains with SSL.Personal is $9/month for 1,000 credits. Pro starts at $20/month for 3,000 credits.Yes, on Free, with SSL.A small site that also needs a database, if you can stay inside 300 credits.
Cloudflare Pages and WorkersStatic requests are free and unlimited. Pages on the free plan: 500 builds a month, one at a time, 20-minute build timeout, 100 custom domains per project. Workers Free: 100,000 requests a day and 10 ms of CPU per invocation. D1 free: 5 GB, 5 million row reads a day, 100,000 row writes a day.Workers Paid is a $5/month minimum and includes 10 million requests a month. Static requests stay free.Yes. 100 per Pages project on the free plan.A static site or a small edge app, including one you plan to put on your own domain.
RenderHobby workspace is $0: 25 services, 5 GB bandwidth, 500 build minutes, 2 custom domains. Free web services (512 MB) spin down after 15 idle minutes and share 750 instance hours a month. Free Postgres is 1 GB, one per workspace, expires 30 days after creation, then a 14-day grace period, and has no backups.$7/month for the cheapest paid web service (under 1 CPU, 512 MB). Paid Postgres starts at $6/month. A Pro workspace is $25/month plus compute.Yes. Hobby includes 2, then $0.25 per extra domain each month.A server that must stay on. Not the free database, if the data matters.
RailwayNew accounts get a one-time $5 trial credit for 30 days. After that, Free is $0 with $1 of credit a month, 0.5 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, and a 0.5 GB volume. The credit does not roll over.Hobby is $5/month and includes $5 of usage. You still pay $5 if you use less. RAM is $10 per GB-month and CPU is $20 per vCPU-month past the included usage.Yes. Railway documents custom domains and SSL. The domains page does not state how many are free.A small always-on app when $5 of usage covers it.
LovablePublishing to a lovable.app URL is free on every plan, with HTTPS. The plan does not cap visitors or bandwidth, except newer Free apps (created from May 13, 2026), which stop at 1,000 server requests per project per 10 seconds. Free includes a 20-credit monthly Cloud grant.Pro with 100 credits is $25/month, or $250/year. Custom domains start there.Paid plans only. The app is still a Lovable project and you do not need your own domain yet.
BoltA bolt.host URL on every plan. Free hosting is 10 GB and 333,333 requests a month for the whole account, then the sites stop until the next cycle. A Made in Bolt badge shows on Free.Pro hosting comes with any paid Bolt plan. The billing docs use Pro 10M at $25/month as the starting example. Pro hosting is 30 GB and 1 million requests, then optional pay-as-you-go up to a cap you set.Pro only. Downgrading to Free blocks new custom-domain publishes.A Bolt project you are still editing in the browser.
ReplitStarter includes 1 published app. The deployment expires after 30 days and can be republished. A .replit.app subdomain is free. Static hosting is listed as free. Autoscale idles after 15 minutes without traffic. The next individual plan is Core. This guide does not repeat a dollar price: the publishing-costs table did not include readable prices, and Fitbuild still marks Core verify on the tool page.Yes. You pay the domain provider. Replit provides the TLS certificate.A demo that can be republished, or an app you are still building inside Replit.

Where the data goes

Stay with the builder

Lovable's built-in backend is on by default and uses Supabase's open-source foundation. Connecting a Supabase project you own works on every Lovable plan. Bolt Database is on every plan, with no published database-count cap on Free. Bolt's Supabase connector is Pro and Teams. Replit includes a built-in database on Starter. Those are fine while you are the only user. They are the wrong place to let an agent experiment once the rows are real. That warning is the checklist.

Give the data its own home

Netlify Free can hold a small database (3 databases, backups kept 7 days). Cloudflare D1 can hold a small SQL database next to a Worker. Render's free Postgres cannot: it expires, and Render's docs say it has no backups. For logins, files, and a database you can open in a dashboard, compare Supabase and Firebase. The host can change later. Moving the data is the harder part, so pick that first if other people will sign up.

Pick by situation

I only have a Lovable, Bolt, or Replit link

Publish it and use it yourself. Buy a custom domain only when you need the name: Lovable and Bolt put that on the paid plan ($25/month at the first Pro tier each documents). Replit lets you connect a domain you pay a registrar for, and the free deployment still expires after 30 days. When the project becomes a repo, the move is from the browser builder to an editor, then onto one of the hosts above.

I have a folder of code

Connect the Git repo to Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, or Vercel and let each push deploy. Use Cloudflare when the site is mostly files and you want the domain on the free plan. Use Vercel when it is Next.js and the use is personal. Use Netlify when 300 credits and a small database cover the month. If the app is a long-running process, use Render or Railway instead of a frontend host.

Someone else will log in

Put the pages on any host in the table. Put the accounts in Supabase or Firebase with the rules on, not in a file on the server's disk. Render free web services lose local files every time they spin down. A SQLite file on that disk is not a database.

I am about to charge money

Leave Vercel Hobby. Keep a paid host that allows commercial use, keep production data out of the agent's reach, and read the payments guide before the checkout button goes live. A free Render database that disappears on day 30 is not a billing database.

Questions people actually ask

Where should I host an app I built with AI?

If it is still inside Lovable, Bolt, or Replit and only you use it, leave it on that host. Lovable publishes a free lovable.app URL on every plan. Bolt publishes a free bolt.host URL, with a hard cap of 10 GB and 333,333 requests a month on Free. Replit Starter includes one published app that expires after 30 days and can be republished. Move when you need a custom domain the free plan does not include, you are about to charge people, or the app needs a server that stays awake. A normal website export fits Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, or Vercel. A process that must stay running fits Render's $7/month web service or Railway Hobby at $5/month.

Can I keep the database on the same host?

Sometimes, and not on a free database that deletes itself. Netlify's free plan includes 3 databases with 7-day backup retention. Cloudflare D1 on the Workers free plan includes 5 GB, 5 million row reads a day, and 100,000 row writes a day. Render's free Postgres expires 30 days after creation, has no backups, and is limited to 1 GB. For accounts and files, use Supabase or Firebase and turn on the access rules before anyone else can open the app.

Do I have to pay Vercel if the app makes money?

Vercel's Hobby plan is free and the docs restrict it to non-commercial, personal use. Charging customers is a reason to leave Hobby. Pro is $20/month, includes one deploying seat, and includes $20 of usage credit. Netlify Personal is $9/month. Cloudflare Workers Paid starts at $5/month, and requests for static files stay free.
